If there's one thing that I hold very dear to my heart, it's the relationship that I have with my girlfriends. As we get older, it can become harder and harder to spend every weekend together, or to know what each other is up to on a day-to-day basis. We start our careers, find ourselves in relationships, and those traditional Tuesday night happy hour trips become less and less frequent. It's because of this that planning girly getaways - no matter how short - are essential for the soul.
About an hour and a half outside of the city, right off of the Montauk Highway, you'll find yourself at the White Fences Inn located in Watermill, NY. With it's prime Southampton location, it's no surprise that White Fences Inn has become a top-rated destination for your B&B stay. From the moment my gal pal and I pulled up to the driveway of this adorable property, we knew we were in for a treat. Greeted by owners Liz, Eric, & and their fluffy friend Bailey, we were immediately welcomed inside as if we had been there a million times before. "How was the ride? What can I get you?", asked Liz, before giving us a quick tour of our suite. I immediately felt the warm hospitality radiate through her spirits.
Opened in 2015, White Fences Inn offers 5 different luxurious rooms, all equipped with a gas fireplace, heated floors, flatscreen TV, free wifi, private bathroom with both a shower + tub, high-end toiletries that also include robes & slippers for each guest, plus a fully stocked fridge with complimentary beverages as well as a basket of snacks. Our room was absolutely gorgeous, clean, comfortable, and I may or may not have gotten one of the best sleeps of my life while staying here. Needless to say, it was everything we were needing + more for our quick overnight girls getaway.
Prior to checking in, Liz provided us with a complimentary wine tasting at the nearby Wolffer Estate Vineyard. Wolffer's tasting room has just recently re-opened after a complete renovation, and is one of the most gorgeous wineries that I have ever visited. Sitting on a 175-acre estate, the property is unquestionably a beautiful place.
We spent the afternoon sipping on some of the finest wines, and munching on a delicious cheese and hummus board, while taking in the gorgeous outdoor view equipped with seating for the warmer months. I've already started planning my next visit to Wolffer, as the Perle Chardonnay, recommended by our adorable server, is now a new favorite of mine.
After settling into our suite and chatting with Liz & Eric for a bit, we headed to the Topping Rose House for dinner at Jean-Georges. Situated in a cozy room off to the side of their bar & lounge, Jean-Georges at Topping Rose House offers farm-to-table cuisine that is farmed and sourced from the local reputable fishermen and farmers. Featured above are the Grilled Lamb Chops, as well as a side of their herbed french fries. The lamb chops were some of the best we've ever tried, and that broccoli spatzle was like no other. Everything from the service to the food was exquisite from the moment we arrived at Topping Rose House.
During your stay, Liz cooks you up an amazing 3-course breakfast that is so delicious, her talent seriously belongs in a 5-star restaurant of sorts. Her menu changes daily, and she will always respect and accommodate any dietary needs that you may have. It was such a joy to sit around the dining room table chatting with Liz & Eric while enjoying our breakfast. We truly felt like we were staying at a relatives home for the night, and we left with such a different perspective of a bed & breakfast experience. The White Fences Inn is far from your typical B&B, and I highly recommend this property if you find yourself planning a trip out to Southampton this spring & summer. (or forever!)
Thank you so much for your warm, bright, and genuine hospitality, Eric & Liz! We can't wait to come back!
