I must say, summer just (un) officially started and I'm already having the time of my life. New York City has been #blessed with some pretty awesome weather lately, and it's making me incredibly excited for what's ahead. This past weekend was Memorial Day, and some friends and I went to Fire Island, NY to celebrate my birthday. 25. I turned 25. How the hell did that happen? I'm officially a quarter of a century old and the thought of that makes me want to hide in my bedroom for a few days and watch Disney movies. I don't want to grow uppppp, I'm a Toys R Us kid. Ammirite?
However, with age comes opportunity, and with opportunity comes memories. One opportunity I wouldn't have the chance to experience if I was still said Toys R Us kid, is heading out to Randall's Island for The Governors Ball this weekend. Music,
I've been thinking about my outfits, which obviously include lots of feathers, head pieces, and high-waisted shorts. If one goes to Governors Ball and doesn't wear a flower crown, did one even go to Governors Ball at all? The answer is no. No they did not. Because so, I've pulled some inspiration from some of my favorite sites in quest of the perfect festival outfits. How. Cute. Are. Those. Cat. Ears ?!!?!?
I'll be attending Governors Ball on behalf of my dope friends over at Kettle Brand, which also just so happens to be one of my favorite snack brands. In fact, last year I coated some breasts in their sriracha & jalapeno varieties. Chicken breasts, that is.
I'm excited to have teamed up with them to give you a fun look into the festival, so be sure to follow me on both Instagram + Snapchat (officialmelrose) for all your music and potato chip pleasure.
See you this weekend, Gov Ball!
