Food and the City: Some Thoughts About Coffee.. Yum

Some Thoughts About Coffee..

Today isn't National Coffee Day. Today isn't even a day in which coffee is more prevalent than it usually is. I just feel like talking about coffee, because it's Friday and Friday should be dedicated to things that we love. I just so happen to really, really love coffee.

Pictured about is a venti skinny caramel macchiato from Starbucks, which also happens to be my go-to order. I post a wide variety of this exact photo, because I shamelessly get one at least 4 times a week, and always get a ton of comments asking what magical drink this is. Now you know my secret, and I'll be accepting deliveries of it all week, incase you thought to send me one. Just kidding... (?)

Also, side note; did you know that a Starbucks caramel macchiato isn't even a real macchiato. Like, at Starbucks it is a real macchiato because it's a physical being that you can touch and taste and what not. But science aside, a macchiato is sort of like an espresso shot, and isn' usually in the form of a sugary iced caramel-syrup infused creation. Now that I think about it, maybe I'm just in love with sugar. Doubtful.

I once read an article stating that people who drink their coffee black are actually psychopaths in disguise. I am one of those people. Not the psychopathic part, (although that's to be decided) but I'm definitely a black coffee drinker. If I'm not ordering a macchiato, don't even think about handing me milk, creamer, sugar, or anything else that can get in between me and my caffeine fix. Caffeine and I have a very special relationship, and it's not one to be disrupted.

I also really want to see some flow charts and extensive studies that prove this theory to be true. What makes a black coffee drinker a psychopath? Did an intern for the New York Times go in and interview Charles Manson to find out his coffee order? Did Charles Manson even drink coffee? What about Jeffrey Dahmer? Did he enjoy a grande flat white with a side of human flesh? These are questions that I need answers to, and then maybe, just maybe, I'd jump aboard this whole black coffee psychopathic assessment. And then I'd immediately have to change my drink order.

But I doubt it.
