June 26, 2013

grilled soy + honey pork chops.

Could it be? Could it be that I'm actually not putting up a pizza recipe? I can't believe it. This is progress people, progress! And look! Pork Chops!

You should make these pork chops for dinner tonight.

Grilled, sticky, asian-y inspired goodness. A burst of flavor that is like a glorious punch to the face.

grilled soy + honey pork chops

1lb pork chops
4 T soy sauce
1 T honey
1/2 T sesame oil
2 T brown sugar
3 cloves of garlic, smashed
1/2 t red pepper flakes
juice from 1/2 of a lemon
cilantro for garnish

Place everything besides the pork chops and cilantro in a bowl. Mix well until sugar is dissolved. This will be your marinade. Add your pork chops to a ziploc bag and pour the marinade on top. Seal, and let sit in the fridge for 1 hour.

Remove pork chops from bag and add left over marinade to a pot. Bring to a complete boil for about 4 minutes so all bacteria released from the raw pork chops is eliminated. Stir constantly to prevent from sticking. This will act as your basting sauce.

Heat a skillet on medium high, until very hot, and add in your pork chops. Grill on the first side for 3 minutes and then flip over. Brush some of the sauce on using a basting brush and allow other side to cook for an additional 3 minutes. Flip back over and apply the sauce to the other side as well.

Be sure to cut into your pork chop for desired done-ness

Serve over rice and top with some cilantro leaves and enjoy!
