Food and the City: Steak Strips Yum

Steak Strips

I'm such a 4 year old.

The past few days I have been turning like, everything into finger food. Seriously - I am such a child. I'll never grow up. But thats ok right? My puppy doesn't seem to mind, and lucky for me dogs don't know how adults are supposed to act. Its pretty much perfect.

Also - side note - did anyone else get April Fool'ed by Nickelodeon the other night? Yes I was watching Nickelodeon. Why? Because they put out this article saying how they were going to be showing a never before seen episode of Rocko's Modern Life. I KNOW RIGHT? Can I just tell you how excited I was? Its embarrassing, really.

Long story short - they lied. All it was was a jar of mayo on the screen for a half hour. Guess what I did for a half hour?

If you guessed that I watched a jar of mayo for a half hour you're correct.

So embarrassing.

But we're friends so I can tell you that sort of thing, right?

Steak Strips

1lb Steak of Choice (I used the cheapo round cube steak), cut into strips
4 T All Purpose Flour
1 T Lawry's Season Salt
1 t Black Pepper
1 t Thyme
1 t Paprika
2 Eggs
1 cup Canola Oil

Heat up your canola oil in a skillet on medium heat. Meanwhile, combined your flour, season salt, black pepper, thyme, and paprika in a shallow dish and crack eggs into another. Dredge each steak strip in the flour, coat in egg, then back into the flour. Set aside.

When oil is heated, place in each steak strip and fry for 4 minutes. Flip over and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until steak is cooked to your liking.

Blot on a paper towel lined dish, and serve with a side of steak sauce!
