Bacon Wrapped Sausages

Also known as the easiest, best appetizer you will ever make in your life.

I have literally been making these for years. Like YEARS, and every single time a holiday is about to roll around, I get about 68 calls from my family making sure that I'll be bringing these. Its sick, I know - but hey, they really really like these.

You guys know these aren't my sort of thing since I don't eat sausage, and I have a love affair with bacon that I'm trrrrying to keep under control, so I don't necessarily have an opinion of my own.. but.. ask anybody that I've ever fed these too and you'll get the same response.

P.S - big thank you to Mr. D for being the hand model for this post and for not going crazy from me shouting every two seconds that he was rolling the sausage wrong. Its love people, really.

Bacon Wrapped Sausage

Makes 25
Two 1 1/2 pound packs of Sweet Italian Sausage
1 16oz pack of Bacon
3 T Brown Sugar
25 Toothpicks

Preheat your oven to 400.
Cut each sausage and each slice of bacon in half. Place a sausage half on the end of a slice of bacon and roll up. Place seam side up and stick in a toothpick to secure it. Transfer to a foil lined baking sheet. Repeat with remaining bacon and sausage.

Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top of sausages making sure to cover the tops of each one.

Cook in the oven for 1 hour, then transfer sausages to a paper towel lines plate to drain excess oil.

Place on a serving dish and watch them disappear within minutes! Enjoy!

pps - Mr. D's mom wanted me to tell you she is sorry her nails were not done for this photo. ^ I know..
