Valentine's Day Ice Cream Milkshakes

I am such a sucker for Valentine's Day.

I know I know, it really is just a Hallmark holiday to boost up sales in chocolate and flowers, but - I just really love how there is so much love on that day. A day specially dedicated to showing your appreciation for someone? I mean c'mon peeps. Why do we hate Valentine's Day so much?

I've gotten into many debates with people in the past about the purpose of Valentine's Day. A lot of people feel you should show your love for someone everyday, and not just on that day- which is totally true and you should - however, if we can have a full day dedicated to eating pancakes (Fat Tuesday), whhhhy do we love to hate a day all about love? Riddle me that, fool.

Ooooooh and don't give me that "But I'm single" nonsense. Whhhere in the life handbook does it say Valentine's Day absolutely has to be about couples? Love your best friend? I'm sure he/she would appreciate you sending over 10lbs of chocolate to destroy their new years resolution. Thats what friends are for.

And so in closing, folks, I say you make these milkshakes
for the person or people that you love this Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day Ice Cream Milkshakes

Makes two
1 cup Cookie's N Cream Ice Cream (Vanilla or Cake batter would work well, too)
3 tablespoons Red Velvet Cake Mix
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup Milk
Whipped Cream and Sprinkles for garnish (optional)

Combined all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. If you use cookies n cream ice cream like I did, some chunks will remain. Divide into two glasses and top with whipped cream and sprinkles!
