Food and the City: Broccoli and Tomato Pizza

Broccoli and Tomato Pizza

Lets talk about how much I love pizza.

No, actually lets not. Because I wouldn't even be able to put my affection for pizza into words. Pizza for breakfast! Pizza for dinner! Pizza for president!

Its become that bad guys.

And living in NYC really doesn't help much with my fatty fatty obsession. WHY? Because every pizzeria in New York is stinkin' delicious and I still haven't come across a bad one. No really. Its bad. Like, on the treadmill for 23 hours a day bad. Like running 47 miles in 10 minutes bad. Like sitting home and eating a pie all by myself and not sharing bad. Why am I talking so badly about pizza? It.Is.Delicious. And you can, like, put anything on it.

But oooooo lets talk about THIS pizza! I make it all the time. Probably a lot more often then I should but we're not going to get back into that conversation again.

BROCCOLI AND TOMATOES YES! I'm weird. Put me in a room filled with exotic cheeses and I'll run out screaming but put me in a room with broccoli and I'll move in within the hour.

Total. Weirdo.

Lets make pizza.

You'll need: Pizza Dough, Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese, Cherry/Grape Tomatoes, and Broccoli!
I like to use leftover broccoli that has already been cooked, but you can get those steamer bags of broccoli that go in the microwave for a few minutes specifically for this pizza. Or for specifically to eat out of the bag with a fork while watching American Horror Story.

I've told you all before that I buy my pizza dough from a deli down the block who hand makes it fresh everyday. I like to think that for that matter it is still homemade and therefore I am making it myself.

Just go with it.

Flour your dough a bit, and prep your pan. Oil it with some olive oil and sprinkle on some cornmeal (cornmeal totally optional. just for a crispier crust!). Roll out your dough by stretching or with a rolling pin. Spoon on your sauce and sprinkle with your cheese.

THEN TOPPINGS! YAY! Obviously you can use whatever toppings you'd like, but this
duo is SO yummy. Make it now.

Now in the oven it goes for 20 minutes on 400 degrees.

I love pizza
